Search items owned by the UNH Library

Our Library Catalog includes records for print and electronic books, media, and subscriptions owned by the Durham and Manchester campus libraries.

Try the Advanced Catalog Search to find materials by type, location, publication year, language, and more.

Books can be checked out at the Circulation Desk on Level 3 of Dimond Library. To retrieve a book you found in the UNH Library Catalog, note the:

  1. Location: Most life sciences and agriculture books are located on the second floor of Dimond Library -- if you don't recognize the location listed, click the location name to learn more about catalog locations.
  2. Call number (Call #): This is the item's address on the shelf. Bring the entire call number with you to the library. When you get to the right floor, look on the ends of each shelf for signs indicating what span of call numbers are on that shelf.
  3. Status: If this says "AVAILABLE", the book should be on the shelf and ready for you to check out. Other statuses (such as a due date, or "MISSING") mean the book isn't available right now, but you can request a different copy through interlibrary loan.
  4. Subject headings: Click a subject heading link to find other books in Dimond Library that are tagged with the same subject heading.

Search items we can borrow from other libraries

WorldCat includes records for materials owned by participating libraries around the world.

UNH students, faculty, and staff can request items from BLC WorldCat and Interlibrary Loan for free!

1. Click on the title of the item -- this will open the full record with all the item details.

2. If you see a Boston Library Consortium (BLC) box with a "Request [3-4 days]" button, you're in luck!

One of our nearby partner libraries has the book and we can get it for you relatively quickly. If you don't see this button, proceed to step 3.

2b. Once you click the "Request [3-4 days]" button, you'll be prompted to log in with your UNH ID number (without the dash).

2c. Your book information should have transferred automatically to the request form -- check that your pick up location is correct and press "Continue."

2d. You should get a confirmation message that your request went through correctly.

3. If the BLC doesn't have the item, you can still request it through Interlibrary Loan by clicking the "Request [5-10 days]" button.

You can request titles held by libraries all over the world -- just keep in mind that books coming from further away will take longer to arrive.
