Can I download an EBSCOhost e-book to my Nook/Kindle/iPad/other mobile device?

In order for an eReader device to be used with eBooks on EBSCOhost, it must be compatible with Adobe Digital Editions. Click this link to view all the mobile devices, such as e-readers and smart phones, that are compatible with Adobe Digital Editions software.

If your device is not compatible with Adobe Digital Editions, you can't read an EBSCOhost e-book on it.

How long can I check out an EBSCOhost e-book?

You can check out an EBSCOhost e-book for a minimum of 1 day and a maximum of 7 days.

Downloading Ebooks on Ebscohost

1. Create an account at EBSCOhost. This is only for downloading the e-books; you do not need an account to read the e-books online.  Click this link for instructions on creating an account.

2. Get an Adobe ID.

3. Download and install a free software program to read the e-book.

a. If you are on a computer, use Adobe Digital Editions. This free program must be installed on your computer in order to read downloaded e-books or transfer them to e-readers or other devices.

b. If you are on a mobile device, download a free reader app such as Bluefire. These apps can be found in the app store on your device. Kindle Fire users can find out how to download the app at the Bluefire blog.

Printing from Ebooks on Ebscohost

After you have selected a book from your results list and selected Ebook Full Text, a pdf file will open up on your screen. Several icons will appear on the righthand side of the screen. Choose the familiar print icon and the following screen will open up:

As you can see, you can print up to 60 pages at a time. Choose Current Page if you only want the one page or look through the pdf file and determine how many pages you'd like to print and select Current  page and the next and enter the number of pages you'd like to print. Then click on the bright yellow Print button.
