Introduction to library resources in the Earth Sciences

Majors in Earth Sciences

The Department of Earth Sciences at UNH aims to improve our understanding of the Earth, and the processes that affect it, through excellence in teaching, research, and service. We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees encompassing a broad spectrum of disciplines including geology, hydrology, oceanography, ocean mapping, geochemistry, climate science, and geophysics. Our location on the Great Bay Estuary near the White Mountains provides an ideal backdrop for hands-on learning opportunities.

Getting Help From the Library

Consulting with a librarian is an important part of successful research.  Librarians can recommend places to search, tools to use, and search strategies to maximize efficiency and save you time.  At UNH, you have several options for consulting with a librarian, including email, chat, and appointments in-person or via Zoom.

The UNH Library has librarians supporting specific departments and colleges, including Earth Sciences. You can find your subject librarian by using the Appointments page or by asking us using Ask A Librarian.
