Citing with Zotero: Generate a Bibliography

Generate a Biblography

Generating a bibliography is quick and easy using Zotero.

1. In your Zotero library, choose a folder and select all the items you want in your bibliography. Right click on the selection and click Create Bibliography from Items...

2. Select your preferred citation style, output mode, and output method. For output method, I like to choose Copy to Clipboard and then click OK.

  • If you need a different citation style than what you see displayed, click Manage Styles... and then Get Additional Styles... which will take you to Zotero's style repository of over 9,000 styles to choose from.

3. Next, open up a document, right click and select Paste to paste your bibliography.

4. Be sure to double check and fix your citations since errors can show up in your bibliography!
