How To Find a Book Using WorldCat

WorldCat allows you to search for books and media in the UNH library and all over the world! You have the option to see if the UNH Library has a specific item, to check if there is another library close by that has that item, and to request that item through interlibrary loan.

1. From the library's homepage (library.unh.edu), click on FirstSearch below the main search box.

2. Search by keyword, author, title, etc in the search box. Make sure to change the field in the dropdown box to the right to select the appropriate field. In the example below, I am searching for the book, Bad Science, and selected Title Phrase in the dropdown box.

3. Select the correct item in the result list. You can see information about the item including the type of media, and how many libraries own it worldwide.

4. On the next page, you can check the UNH Library catalog to see if this book is available, look at the list of worldwide libraries that own this item, and request the item through interlibrary loan (ILL).
