Digital Scholarship is interdisciplinary scholarly activity that involves the integration of digital technologies with research and teaching pursuits. There are numerous definitions of digital scholarship in use, each nuanced to reflect aspects such as the scope, function, or nature of the activities involved and the perspective of the person or group using the term. Digital humanities is digital scholarship in research areas within the domain of the humanities. The University Library employs the definition proposed by Bucknell University, which defines digital scholarship as
“any scholarly activity that makes extensive use of one or more of the new possibilities for teaching, learning and research opened up by the unique affordances of digital media. These include, but are not limited to, new forms of collaboration, new forms of publication, and new methods for visualizing and analyzing data.”
