About the Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education
The Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) Board adopted the Framework in 2016.
The Framework is organized into six frames; each frame can be viewed by clicking on the tabs along the top of this guide.
Along with a description, each frame includes a set of knowledge practices (demonstrations of how learners can increase their understanding of the information literacy concepts) and dispositions (ways in which to address the affective, attitudinal or valuing dimension of learning).
About Information Literacy (Definition)
Information literacy is the set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning.
