You can limit a Google search to focus results on US federal and state government publications by including 'site:.gov' (no quotes) in the search along with your topic. Sometimes adding report or publication helps also. For example:

site:.gov electric vehicle charging stations report

site:.gov solar adopter statistics

This type of search can also be used to look for websites and/or publications from nonprofit organizations such as research centers, nongovernmental organizations, and intergovernmental organizations. You would just use a different domain indicator: '.org'; for example:

site:.org climate water resources report
