Cultural Competence
“Cultural Competence” is a diversity and inclusion podcast from the Gallup Center on Black Voices, hosted by Dr. Ella F. Washington and Camille Lloyd. We talk to employers and employees alike about what a workplace utopia for diversity, equity and inclusion looks like and the hard work it will take for us to get there. How can employers facilitate meaningful conversations on race in America? And what are the missteps they can avoid in the process? This season, we’ll talk tokenism, pay inequity, political polarization, hair in the workplace and much more.
Cultural Humility
The current state of affairs relative to social justice issues (race, gender, sexual identity and expression, religion, and socio-economic status) shows us that the need for diversity and inclusion in our society is greater than ever.
The diversity and inclusion concept of cultural humility is a current instrument being employed by institutions and organizations that seek to achieve cultural transformation. Juliana believes that through conscious consideration, we can be proactive in preparing for and adhering to the inevitable changes in society.
She will challenge us to think about our own personal biases and collectively learn to truly embrace, appreciate, and live communally with those who are different from us. Juliana Mosley, affectionately called Dr. J. by her students, has served the field of education for 20 years, with the last 18 being dedicated to higher education. Juliana seeks to educate and train people to engage in difficult dialog through cultural humility to make the unconscious conscious. She has presented at regional and national conferences, and institutions, providing training and development workshops in leadership transition, strategic planning, student development, and diversity (race, gender/sexual orientation, and religion).

Cultural Humility Podcast
For a long time I have been concerned about our disconnect from one another as human beings. Our histories in the United States indicates that when we work together, we succeed, yet we continue to dehumanize people and communities. How do we create a more just society? How we can come together as human beings? Join me, Dr. Miguel E. Gallardo, as I address ways in which human beings can better understand “the other,” while learning how to create meaningful change. Listen as I have cultural conversations with both professionals and community members about cultural, social, and political issues and what we can do to create more just outcomes while seeing our human connection to one another.
Status Podcast
Status tells the human stories that immigration impacts.
Somebody might be in the US on an E-1, an H-1B, a J-2, or an F-1. They might be undocumented or they may have their green card. They might be moving to Canada for a job or to the UK to escape violence in their home country.
In any case, every immigrant has a story. We tell those stories and how the complex reality of immigration weaves its way into the narrative.
