Air photos are snapshots in time. They are invaluable in providing baseline data for comparison with more recent conditions, including roads and other development as well as natural features such as vegetation or changes in stream channels.
Here "historic" aerial photos are defined as those older than 10 years.

Regional planning agencies and local offices of USDA Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS) generally have hard copies of some local photographs.
GRANIT, the state GIS repository, has some aerial photos available both for viewing online, printing, and downloading as noted below.
