Lesson Plan: Research Summary Development & Research Tools

Objective:
Students will use the session to make progress on their research summaries. They will work on secondary research to define their project's background, quantify its significance, and explore its relevance to public health, incorporating contextual social, political, or other relevant issues.

1. Introduction

• Welcome: Kate Norton, UNH Manchester Library
• Objective: Time to work on their research summaries and introduce tools for successful completion.
• Overview: Review of the structure and goals of the research summary, emphasizing:
  • Defining the background of the research topic in public health terms.
  • Quantifying the significance of the problem/issue.
  • Presenting other relevant background information and the context for the project.
