A. In groups chose an organism from the list below. Find it in the ATCC database to learn more.

A. Identify keywords that will help you find information about your organism.

Part 3

Search PubMed to find articles. Consider the following as you search.

  • Does your article give a broad overview of the organism?
  • Is it a literature review or a piece of original research? How can you tell?
  • Do you have an article that highlights unusual features of the organism?
  • Do you have an article that highlights distinctive features of the organism?
  • Do you have an article that discusses how the organism is like other organism?
  • Do you have an article that discusses how the organism is unlike other organisms?
  • Do you have an article that discusses the discovery of the organism?

Part 4

Look for articles related to your organism.

Brainstorm keywords that will help you find the articles you need.

Choose filters to narrow your search.

Evaluate the articles you find based on the criteria discussed in Part 3. If you don't have what you need look again for new articles.
