Research with Indigenous Communities

Introduction

In this guide, we have curated a list of resources on topics related to research with Indigenous communities, including:

  • Indigenous research methods
  • Land relations
  • Best practices in data ethics
  • Data sovereignty

This guide is designed as a starting point for researchers interested in engaging with Indigenous communities as they begin the journey of self-education. It is intended to support the development of more culturally responsive frameworks through a justice-focused lens of knowledge access, creation, and dissemination. This guide should be considered a supplement and does not replace the necessary work of relationship-building, community awareness, and place-based knowledge.
