Collaborate with the College Librarian

The Library is committed to working with faculty to meet the information and research needs of our students. We provide a full cadre of library services to the GSC Community. Please to not hesitate to Contact the Library.

Our Digital Collection Never Closes- But It is Different

The GSC Discovery Service is the gateway to our password-protected digital library collection. With a full cadre of research databases, and thousands of e-books aligned with the College’s curriculum and tailored to support students’ research needs, the GSC Discovery Service is easily accessed via the Library website and your online class.

Maybe you teach at another institution, and assume we have resources similar to those you have used elsewhere. This is not always the case. The Library can help you find or confirm that we have the resources you need for your classes. We also periodically offer Faculty Workshops on library services. These are intended as conversations to help you better use our resources, identify resource gaps, and learn how the library can better serve the needs of the teaching faculty. See the Library Calendar for our next faculty workshop. Access to the GSC Discovery Service is from the Library homepage.

Help Your Students Get a Jump on Library Research

The Library offers research seminars that include an introduction to library services, using the GSC Discovery Service, and course or topic specific workshops. Seminars are offered online and face-to-face. See our Library Calendar for scheduled events, or Contact the Library and schedule a special session for your class.

GSC Library Research Guide

GSC students sometimes panic when confronted with a research paper or topic that requires using library resources. The GSC Library Research Guide is intended to help them with the research process. We include topics such as what is peer-review, how to cite resources, and directions for completing the most common GSC research assignments. We have also included a section on developing effective library research assignments.

The Library is always looking to enhance the Guide. Give us Feedback!
